Trying to create a WMV file and all of a sudden get this message:  cannot find a fix
Unable to encode the video: Error: Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG))
I have windows 7 x64

Please try uninstalling the Windows WMV codec than reinstalling the version from the link below.

What feature and version of the application are you using? Also when installing the 32bit WMV encoder did you try removing the 64 bit version first then restarting the system?
